Two ways to experience light

A bundle of 100 UV-reactive optical fibre tails, 2 metres long combines the visual and tactile qualities of sensory optical fibres with a second response to ultraviolet black light.

They can be watched, touched, held, separated and grouped, gently laid over the body, used to surround the user or moved to draw shapes of light in the air.

The fibres are made of PMMA, without glass fibre, and emit light laterally along their length. Only light travels through the optical fibres: there is no electricity and heat from the light source is not transmitted through them.

With their own LED source

The set includes a 16 W RGBW LED source and is complete and autonomous: no additional device or control system is required.

Simply plug it in. When switched on, the source starts a slow cyclic colour sequence with smooth transitions.

The UV-reactive coating means that the colours transmitted through these fibres appear somewhat less bright and different from those of the transparent version. In return, it provides a completely different second sensory experience.

Under black light: fluorescence

Expose the fibres to a suitable UV black light and their reactive coating fluoresces.

In this mode the fibres' own LED source does not even need to be switched on: the visual effect is produced by the fluorescent pigment reacting to the ultraviolet illumination in the environment.

The same bundle can therefore be explored in two very different ways: through the colours generated by its LED source or as a UV-reactive element within a black-light environment.

And with SENTS, interactive too

The LED source comes with SENTS compatibility as standard. If you have the SENTS control system, the professional can take control from the tablet: switch the fibres on or off and select at any time the colour they want them to display.

SENTS can also turn the fibres into an interactive resource. The tablet interface can be adapted to each person, from a single coloured area that triggers a simple cause-and-effect response when touched to several colour choices that allow the user to decide how the fibres should light up.

At each person's own pace

SENTS does not impose a response time.

Once a colour has been selected, the fibres remain in that state until the professional or user voluntarily triggers another action. The system does not restart an automatic sequence simply because a few seconds or minutes have passed.

This allows activities to take place without rushing, respecting the time each person needs to perceive, understand, decide and act, while the professional retains control of the session.

The fibres operate perfectly without the SENTS control system. SENTS is an additional option for controlling them and, whenever desired, turning them into an interactive resource.
