Interactive ceiling projection places the visual experience above the user and incorporates their live moving image into the projected scene. The person can see themselves among floating objects and dynamic effects that respond to the movement of their head, hands, feet or body.
It is particularly accessible to people who need to remain lying down or reclined and to users whose mobility is limited. Even small movements can produce an immediate visual or sound response.
An accessible and immersive experience
The user becomes part of the scene: their live image appears within the projection and moves with them. Interaction from a lying or reclined position: the ceiling remains within the visual field without requiring an upright posture. Cause and effect: movements modify projected objects, images and sounds. Individual or shared activities: the experience can be used with support from professionals, carers or family members.
Ceiling projection can encourage attention, body awareness, purposeful movement, communication and shared enjoyment while providing stimulating or calming activities.
Planning the installation
The room, projection area, lighting conditions and position of the bed, mat or reclining seat must be considered. We can help you assess the space, select the appropriate content and licences and prepare a personalised proposal.
